Mission

Our Food Bank has been serving North County since 1980.

Our mission is creating a community where no one goes hungry. We focus on solving the problems and eliminating the barriers standing between the individuals we serve and a life in which they are self-sufficient, prepared, and confident. We not only provide emergency food supplies to our clients but also a wide array of basic life skills courses. In partnership with area services such as WorkSource and Adventist Community Services, we offer courses such as:

  • Healthy Cooking
  • Celebrity Chef and Kids in the Kitchen
  • Living with Diabetes
  • Job Search and Interviewing
  • And much more.

Our goal is providing each of our clients with a sense of hope and an understanding that we truly care.

You can help us make a difference in your community by volunteering, either as a sustaining A.P.P.L.E donor or giving a single donation, or just by sharing our message with others. Let’s unite in making our community stronger and healthier.

A few facts about the foodbank:

  • 40% of the population we serve are children impacted by hunger because of their family situation.
  • 22% of our population are senior citizens living on social security and unable to make it each month, often struggling after major medical situations and chronic illness or cancer.

There are many ways in which you can make a difference in your community.
